Twitter Battle!

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 19:50

So I’ve been using twitter for awhile now.

I started my account on Twitter in 2004 but didn’t start using it until it began getting a lot of press over the blogshpere.

I’ve been following many of my favorite celebrities and also internet marketing masterminds!

So Ashton Kutcher has challenged Larry King! Ashton believes he will hit 1 million followers before CNN does! Watch the Video: Click Here

Now Larry King has responded to Ashton’s dual! See the Video Click Here

I’m surprised TMZ has not hopped on this yet! I emailed them though so hopefully they will cover it!

I did some research right now @aplusk is at 869,771 Followers but  according to Twittercounter.com @aplusk his 30 day prediction is 1,435,893

But @cnnbrk is at 928,441 followers So actually they are ahead right now…. I didn’t know that before I started this blogpost lol

According to Twittercounter.com @cnnbrk 30 day prediction is 1,479,852 that’s higer than Ashton’s prediction but If we all got on top of this I’m sure Ashton could surely beat him!

So get on it and Follow @aplusk on Twitter Now!

Wow so I looked into the whole @cnnbrk twitter thing and it turns out I found this http://tinyurl.com/CNNhaha

So now it gets pretty interesting! LoL

Mysterious Myths of Sex

Wednesday, April 8, 2009 16:42
Posted in category General

That’s right I said the “S” word!

So have you ever heard any strange or mysterious myths about sex?

When I was younger I remember hearing all kinds of myths about sex. Like if a female goes pee after having sex, there is less chance she will become pregnant.

I also remember hearing that if a girl has never gotten her period she can not get pregnant.

Usually when I had questions or needed advice on sex I would go to some of my closest friends in school although their answers my not have always been reliable. Too bad we didn’t have the internet back then cause that’s where I would have sought out my questions and answers on myths about sex.

So I was doing some surfing on the same general subject and came across this website, healthguru.com If we did have the internet back when I was a confused little teen I would have definitely used this site to find my answers.

This website is very nicely organized and easy to find the answers that I am looking for. It’s very easy to navigate. My favorite section of the site is the Sex 101 videos. The Sex survey is also fun to do and it shows you what your true knowledge about sex really is.

I would recommend this site to anyone that is looking for answers to all of their questions about sex.

Til then Stay Safe!

Pay-Per-Click Advertising

Friday, March 20, 2009 12:43

There are pro’s & con’s to both Pay-Per-Click advertising and optimizing for natural search engine traffic.

PPC advertising has many great benefits. First of all, you get your traffic going quickly. I have used this advantage many times. I test new products and even new websites through PPC advertising before making a decision to promote or scrap my new website or product idea.

I am a firm believer in testing new products before throwing large amounts of money into advertising. PPC advertising is a great way to do this. For example, with Google’s Adwords program, you can post your ad, pay a $5 sign-up fee and have highly targeted traffic to your website within an hour. How is that for efficiency?

Also, you can moniter your click charges and stop them before they get too expensive. By the time you have spent your budget on clicks, you should have a pretty good idea of how successful your product is going to be.

I think of PPC advertising as being the most useful when starting a new business or product. WIth PPC advertising, you can quickly and efficiently find out which keywords you need to target and which products are the most popular.

Once that testing period is over, however, it’s time to look into Search Engine Optimization. PPC advertising can be very expensive, costing hundreds, even thousands a month in advertising costs. Once you know what keywords to target, it’s time to put together a plan on how you are going to optimize your website. The drawbacks to search engine optimization is that it requires a lengthy amount of time to get your site to rank high with your keywords. That is why I suggest using this method after the testing period is over, when you already know your business will be profitable.

Search Engine Optimization is definately a slow way to get your website traffic if you plan on not using PPC traffic. It could be a long, expensive road before you even begin selling your product. Search engines can take months, even years to start pulling up high with the search engines. But, natural search engine traffic is definately the best long term way to get the majority of your traffic.

When getting your site to start pulling up in SE natural listings there are 2 main things that need to be done:

  1. Add Content
  2. Add Backlinks

Search engine traffic requires you to submit your site to many different search engines and wait, maybe even months for them to spider your website.

I have had much better luck with another route. You can pay a fee to have your website listed in a very high ranking directory like www.dmoz.com (free), www.yahoo.com’s directory ($299), sbd.bcentral.com (only $50), or another website where your link is on a page that has a page ranking of 4,5,6 or higher. The sites I mentioned above have rankings of 8 or 9. When you have your link on a site with that high of a ranking, the search engines are spidering those sites constantly and will find your website and spider it very quickly. Not only will they find it quickly but because you are linked to a high ranking site, you will also rank higher with the SE.

When looking for backlinks, focus on sites with content related to yours and high page rankings of 4 or higher.

As for content on your site, try to include about 200-500 words of content or text on most of the pages of your site. Text makes your site bulkier. Make sure to integrate all of the keywords you want to target within the content of your site. Don’t worry about cramming the same keywords in over and over. Search engines may possibly even blacklist your site for keyword stuffing, if you try to do that.

There is a lot to know about Search Engine Optimization but, those are the 2 main factors when getting started.

In summary, when starting out, I suggest using PPC advertising for testing products and keywords. Spend time optimizing your site for search engine traffic after you have tested your products and keywords.

Nice Guys Finish Last.

Monday, March 16, 2009 13:56
Posted in category General

I have been dating recently. I had an experience with a very very Beautiful woman that I was really into. I was very courteous to her and I was a gentleman to her as well.

Although all of that backfired on me. I’m a very kind, caring and generous guy. We all know that most women like assholes. That was why I was  blown off by her telling me that I smothered her. I was just trying to show genuine interest and care.

This just made me very disappointed in myself and I considered changing my attitude to become and asshole and treat all women like shit cause that’s what they want. Then I realized that it’s not me that has an issue.

A Woman like that doesn’t deserve a good Man like myself. Especially if she can’t see it and wants a man that treats her like shit.

Anyway if your reading this you know who you are and perhaps you’d be willing to forgive me (even though I did nothing wrong) and give me a second chance, You have my number.

So anyway I asked google, “Why do girls like assholes?” and I found this tribute to all the nice guy out there like myself. So I am posting it here as well.

This is a tribute to the nice guys. The nice guys that finish last, that never become more than friends, that endure hours of whining and bitching about what assholes guys are, while disproving the very point. This is dedicated to those guys who always provide a shoulder to lean on but restrain themselves to tentative hugs, those guys who hold open doors and give reassuring pats on the back and sit patiently outside the changing room at department stores. This is in honor of the guys that obligingly reiterate how cute/beautiful/smart/funny/sexy their female friends are at the appropriate moment, because they know most girls need that litany of support. This is in honor of the guys with open minds, with laid-back attitudes, with honest concern. This is in honor of the guys who respect a girl’s every facet, from her privacy to her theology to her clothing style.

This is for the guys who escort their drunk, bewildered female friends back from parties and never take advantage once they’re at her door, for the guys who accompany girls to bars as buffers against the rest of the creepy male population, for the guys who know a girl is fishing for compliments but give them out anyway, for the guys who always play by the rules in a game where the rules favor cheaters, for the guys who are accredited as boyfriend material but somehow don’t end up being boyfriends, for all the nice guys who are overlooked, underestimated, and unappreciated, for all the nice guys who are manipulated, misled, and unjustly abandoned, this is for you.

This is for that time she left 40 urgent messages on your cell phone, and when you called her back, she spent three hours painstakingly dissecting two sentences her boyfriend said to her over dinner. And even though you thought her boyfriend was a chump and a jerk, you assured her that it was all ok and she shouldn’t worry about it. This is for that time she interrupted the best killing spree you’d ever orchestrated in GTA3 to rant about a rumor that romantically linked her and the guy she thinks is the most repulsive person in the world. And even though you thought it was immature and you had nothing against the guy, you paused the game for two hours and helped her concoct a counter-rumor to spread around the floor. This is also for that time she didn’t have a date, so after numerous vows that there was nothing “serious” between the two of you, she dragged you to a party where you knew nobody, the beer was awful, and she flirted shamelessly with you, justifying each fit of reckless teasing by announcing to everyone: “oh, but we’re just friends!” And even though you were invited purely as a symbolic warm body for her ego, you went anyways. Because you’re nice like that.

The nice guys don’t often get credit where credit is due. And perhaps more disturbing, the nice guys don’t seem to get laid as often as they should. And I wish I could logically explain this trend, but I can’t. From what I have observed on campus and what I have learned from talking to friends at other schools and in the workplace, the only conclusion I can form is that many girls are just illogical, manipulative bitches. Many of them claim they just want to date a nice guy, but when presented with such a specimen, they say irrational, confusing things such as “oh, he’s too nice to date” or “he would be a good boyfriend but he’s not for me” or “he already puts up with so much from me, I couldn’t possibly ask him out!” or the most frustrating of all: “no, it would ruin our friendship.” Yet, they continue to lament the lack of datable men in the world, and they expect their too-nice-to-date male friends to sympathize and apologize for the men that are jerks. Sorry, guys, girls like that are beyond my ability to fathom. I can’t figure out why the connection breaks down between what they say (I want a nice guy!) and what they do (I’m going to sleep with this complete *** now!). But one thing I can do, is say that the nice-guy-finishes-last phenomenon doesn’t last forever. There are definitely many girls who grow out of that train of thought and realize they should be dating the nice guys, not taking them for granted. The tricky part is finding those girls, and even trickier, finding the ones that are single.

So, until those girls are found, I propose a toast to all the nice guys. You know who you are, and I know you’re sick of hearing yourself described as ubiquitously nice. But the truth of the matter is, the world needs your patience in the department store, your holding open of doors, your party escorting services, your propensity to be a sucker for a pretty smile. For all the crazy, inane, absurd things you tolerate, for all the situations where you are the faceless, nameless hero, my accolades, my acknowledgement, and my gratitude go out to you. You do have credibility in this society, and your well deserved vindication is coming.
